Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) - Certified Provides surgical technology to direct and indirect care and service. Assists surgeon and performs operative/invasive procedures. Serves as a resource to other technologists, trains new technologists, trains students, and functions as an informal lead technologist role as needed. Mentoring and utilizing the additional education gained through certification will be used to assist peers, perform more efficiently, and raise performance.
Key Responsibilities:Preparation for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures that are timely, accurate, effective, and efficient. Ensures instruments, equipment, and sutures are appropriate, complete, and functional. Sets up a sterile field and is scrubbed prior to the patient entering the room. Organizes back table and mayo for efficient access. Uses resources wisely and avoids unnecessary openings. Maintains fluid and non-redundant motions. Adjusts setup time for various case types within acceptable ranges. Collaborates with surgeon prior to the case and adjusts as necessary. Precepts surgical techs and RNs to prepare for specific procedures.Scrubs on simple to complex procedures across various specialties. Able to
