SURVEY INTERN Westwood Professional Services, Inc. Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Intern to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, meeting regulatory requirements, public relations) of work, safety, and maintenance of equipment Must operate equipment, maintain safe work environment, protect and maintain the equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features Record accurate and clear surveying notes Requires a lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold Set wooden stakes and iron rods, cut and clear brush, trees, etc.
Adhere to the companys Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies Assisting Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff Required Skills: Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances Required Experience: High school diploma or GED required Currently enrolled in an associates or bachelors degree program in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities Ability to manage multiple tasks, project coordination, maintain organizational structures, and interact with other design services Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience: Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, construction staking Full use of Microsoft Office Familiar with GIS processes and terminology Prior experience with survey field work
