Job Summary:
The Senior System Administrator (sysadmin) will ensure the organization's computer systems are functioning properly.
This role is responsible for the lifecycle of hardware and software assets, managing, troubleshooting, licensing and update.
This position mitigates problems before they occur to avoid business downtime.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint as well as others; stay current with industry standards and technologiesOversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of servers, virtual machines, and networking devicesImplement best practices and optimize our Microsoft 365 and Windows environmentsProvide top-tier support to security or usability concerns, coordinating with various teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues.Monitor system performance, availability and reliability.Work closely with other IT staff and stakeholders to ensure our tools meet business need.Maintain compliance with all applicable security policies, regulations, and best practices.Ensure the integrity of data storage and backup systemsMaintain the internet connection, firewall and monitoring security toolsManage the configuration of operating systemsAnticipate potential problems and take action to solve them before they impact users through proactive activities (updates, ageing replacement plan, balance load, business continuity, backup schedule, and more)Test software and review application logsControl access; Add, remove or update user information Document the network configuration and procedures
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in information technology, a related field or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience as a system administrator in a Windows/Office 365 environment.Proven background in systems administration and infrastructure management.Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 features, functionalities and automation.In-depth understanding of Azure Active Directory/Entra, PowerShell/Scripting, Veeam & VMware.Demonstrated background working with cross functional IT teams and leading/completing projects.Any certifications such as: CompTIAServer+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, RHCSA, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solution Architect preferred Solid working knowledge of standard computer applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointAbility using a computer which includes expert keyboard and navigation skills and learning new programsCommunicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customersWork effectively individually and as part of a team to achieve established outcomes.
