Junior Systems Engineer Location: Parsippany, NJ
Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team.
This is a temporary position with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role, depending on the business needs.
The role combines systems engineering and general IT responsibilities, including administering Microsoft 365 and Teams environments, addressing security vulnerabilities, and providing day-to-day IT support.
This is a hybrid but primarily in-office role.
The candidate is expected to be on-site four days a week and can work one day from home.
Key Responsibilities: • Administer and support Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Teams Phone.
• Review, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities identified by our security tools, including patching and updating end-user devices.
• Assist in configuring and managing Intune for device management, ensuring company devices meet security and compliance standards.
• Respond to and resolve user support tickets related to hardware, software, and account management.
• Set up and configure PCs and peripherals for employees in the office.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of IT issues, escalating to senior engineers when necessary.
• Provide general IT support and contribute to maintaining IT documentation and asset tracking.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams Phone.
• Familiarity with Intune for device management and IT security principles, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Strong interest in learning IT systems administration and cloud services.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications are a plus, such as:
