System Safety Engineer Job Description: The System Safety Engineer implements systems principles and concepts, as well as scientific, technological, and management methods to: master and tame the unwieldy complexity of modern warfighting systems development. reduce the paralyzing uncertainty among engineering design alternatives and acquisitions decision making. In this role you will analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements. Functions in a Model-Based Systems Engineering database.
Primary Qualifications: Must be able to work directly with customers and project leadership to report out on safety program status, and will be responsible for preparing reports, and reviewing subcontractor safety documentation and analysesHave an understanding of System Safety Engineering, improve and evolve the System Safety process and methodology, and be an ambassador of the discipline within the companyAble to work on tasking which will include requirements analysis, interface analysis, and operations analysis, as well as system safety test and verificationCreate prediction models and mathematical analyses supporting product reliability, maintainability & availabilityFamiliarity with ejection seat systems and weapon employment systemsCreate presentations and provide briefings to customers and company senior managementRead and understand engineering reports, drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams/schematicsKnowledge on how to coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules, engaging in effective time management, working with a great deal of independence Must Have Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
