Compensation: $60,841-$73,009 Compensation Type: Salary Employment Type: Regular Grade: E05 Position Summary Provides high level system administration, analysis, design, evaluation, standardization, implementation and maintenance of client/server based network operating systems, services, servers and associated network server hardware and software. Duties & Responsibilities Installs, configures and maintains hardware and software on servers to provide a stable and secure computing environment; and sets up, configures and maintains multiple servers and applications. Maintains and monitors integrity of network operating system and security access to network servers; administers file based intrusion detection system to ensure data integrity; and integrates production systems with centralized monitoring tools. Researches, installs and test software updates and patches to supported applications and various operating systems. Uses system diagnostic and network operating system tools to troubleshoot system failures and network related problems; determines and resolves problem source; and coordinates support with hardware/software vendor as needed. Designs, plans, coordinates and implements core-computing services for use in complex local and wide area networks; evaluates, designs, implements and maintains standardized server and workstation configurations; designs, manages, monitors and maintains VMware virtualization and SAN storage infrastructure; and recommends, designs, plans and implements projects that provide crucial services for the computing infrastructures. Researches new technologies; presents recommendations on hardware/software purchases; and provides direction, technical advice and guidance. Investigates, plans and tests new releases of server, virtualization and desktop operating systems, enterprise systems, patching and upgrades. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field and (3) three years of related experience. OR Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field and (5) five years of related experience. OR (10) ten years of related experience.
