Systems Administrator

Job Description Summary: Administration and maintenance of all SECS systems and software on the multi-platform SECS network. Ensure that all computing facilities, research and teaching laboratories are in working order across the multi-building and multi-site SECS domain. Work with faculty and staff to support the use of commercial software packages such as compilers, source code control systems, simulators and engineering design packages, in addition to monitoring system performance, assisting faculty, staff and students in technical support and applying corrective measures. Improve and automate existing SECS computing.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. One-year experience managing enterprise systems. Experience with Windows and Linux. Experience with at least one scripting language. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Willingness to work occasional weekends and mornings for maintenance windows. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an IT Helpdesk environment. About Oakland University
