Responsibilities as the Systems Design and Architecture Engineer include.
Plan and manage innovative technical projects, tackling complex challenges and driving solutions that deliver significant business value.
Perform technical project management activities to achieve the specific results expected and guide the team through complex problems and development projects by: Defining requirements for the next generation optical modem and translating them into technical specifications.
Defining system architecture including evaluation of enabling technologies for both hardware and software.
Overseeing the progress of the development team to ensure consistency with the initial design.
Developing technical documentation in support of product development in the form of detailed system requirements.
Interacting with industry partners and customers through technical presentations and understanding of the customers' requirements.
Bridging the gap between customer needs, software development, and hardware capabilities.
Acting as a role model and mentor to the company's technical community.Your background will include.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of related experience with an emphasis on product definition and development focused around.
Coherent optical modem concepts.
Ethernet and OTN framing.
Optical network architectures.
System design principles and methodologies around optical technologies.
Understanding of hardware and embedded software design concepts.
Knowledge of optical coherent modem building blocks such as ADC/DAC, DSP, and modulators.
Understanding of optical communications.
The ability to travel domestically or internationally as required.
