Title: Systems Engineer
Overview: Our client's Managed Services team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with consulting skills to support customers in the greater Baltimore / Washington DC area.
The Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing solutions, as well as providing ongoing operational support and advice for customers' information systems, with a focus on onsite requirements. This position requires excellent communication skills as it is client-facing and involves collaborating closely with other systems engineers and support desk staff under the direction of the head of the Managed Services team.
Responsibilities Provide prompt and effective responses to technology support requests. Deliver high-quality support for Microsoft 365, desktop, server, and network-level issues. Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to clients and internal management. Configure LAN and WAN topologies, and manage server staging and deployment. Offer Tier 2 and Tier 3 support as needed. Required Technical Skills Minimum of a two-year degree with an emphasis on information systems or technology management, or equivalent combination of experience and training. Five years of experience in technical customer support. Strong communication skills. Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems and network troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge of workstation operating systems, applications, networks, networking technologies, and technology management tools. Expertise in Windows server and desktop operating systems, email systems, firewalls, and network security. Pluses Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, VMware. Extensive experience with products from leading technology providers such as Microsoft, HP, Dell, SonicWall, Datto, and StorageCraft. Experience with managed services platforms like ConnectWise Automate, Kaseya. Vendor certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CSSA).
