This person provides a technical resource to operations customers to ensure that systems are designed and operating to meet production needs.Key Responsibilities:Learns to recognize potential issues or technical problems and tackle these under guidance of supervisorAssist with the planning and execution of plant projects involving computerized infrastructure changes and process improvementsProvide infrastructure support (servers, networks, workstations, storage, and client devices) for Automation, Business Analytics, Quality Control, and any other information systems used to support Operations.Maintain system integrity and identify performance and security improvementsUtilizes colleagues, system documentation, and support contracts to solve complex problemsParticipate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support to resolve issues outside of normal business hoursContinuously aware of new methodologies pertinent to information systems and is able to introduce them with limited supervisory inputContributes to design of new applications and solutionsExecute test scripts (design, execution, simulation, etc.)
with support and guidance from supervisorOwn change requests and participate in all aspects of the change control systemLearn, understand and follow 21 CFR Part 11 regulationsAssist the Quality department with deviation investigationsParticipate in RCAs as Operations Information Systems (OIS) representativeReview/revise OIS and Manufacturing-related, SOP's, Functional Specifications, and work instructions, as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.Remain up to date on all assigned training activitiesKey Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferred, or significant related work experience accepted.
Preferred areas of study: Computer Science, Information Technology or an applicable Engineering field.Experience developing technical documentation for networks and information systemsExperience with: servers, storage, network and related infrastructure fundamentals; operating systems; Windows and Linux; deployment applications; Symantec Ghost, Acronis; programming languages; VB Script, .Net, and SQL preferred; Cisco and 3Com network switching and network monitoring utilities; and/or with Citrix Metaframe or Microsoft Terminal Services.Ability to think critically and logically.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Outlook, Word, and ExcelEvery day, Lonza's products and services have a positive impact on millions of people.
