Summary: We are seeking a Senior System Engineer in APG. This position requires collaborating with system users to convert their requirements into effective system designs. The ideal candidate will tackle engineering challenges, oversee solution implementation, and contribute to the creation of test strategies.
Salary range: 87-119K
Job Qualifications: Engage with system users to understand their needs and translate them into detailed hardware, software, and system requirements.Support the design, development, and modification of systems based on user input and technical expertise.Participate in the creation and execution of test strategies to validate system functionality.Address engineering challenges within the assigned functional area.Manage or guide the solution of engineering problems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of system specifications with user needs.Leverage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in the system development process.Preferred experience with RedHat OpenShift for managing and scaling applications in a containerized environment.Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating system deployments and updates.Familiarity with DevOps practices that enable efficient collaboration between development and operations teams.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in systems engineering or related technical fields.Strong problem-solving skills in a technical environment.Familiarity with RedHat OpenShift and its use in managing containerized applications.Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating deployment processes.DevOps experience to foster collaboration between development and operations teams.Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.Familiar with the US Army DCGS-A FoS.Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the last 8 years.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another Engineering/Technical discipline is required.A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.Working Conditions: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time position.
