Job Overview: Staff Accountant
Our partner firm is seeking a Staff Accountant, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting regarding tax exposure with applicable regulations, accounting standards under GAAP and company policies.
This role involves managing the preparation and analysis of financial statements, collaborating with various departments, and staying informed about changes in accounting regulations.
Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements as well as prepare tax filings.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Reconciliations of multiple accounts including checking and credit card accounts Review the work product for multiple staff external accounting teams to ensure accuracy.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments.
Analysis: Tax preparation & filings Documentation: Maintain documentation of tax processes and procedures.
Prepare and update accounting policies as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is often preferred or an EA.
Several years of experience in with GAAP accounting, bookkeeping or Tax accounting.
Strong understanding communication skills.
Capable of working closely with high net worth families and their businesses.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of relevant financial software and ERP systems including QuickBooks or Ultra Tax CS.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while leading a small team.
Location: Central Texas
