\n ResponsibilitiesYou Will Be:Tax Preparation & Compliance:
Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities. Ensure all filings are accurate and submitted on time.Tax Planning & Strategy:
Assist in the development of tax strategies to minimize client liabilities, optimize tax positions, and align with business goals. Provide advice on tax planning for clients or internal departments, including matters such as mergers, acquisitions, and international tax.Research & Analysis:
Conduct thorough research on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends. Analyze the impact of new tax laws and guidance on clients or company operations. Offer well-reasoned advice based on current tax legislation.Audit Support & Representation:
Support clients through tax audits by preparing necessary documentation, responding to IRS inquiries, and assisting in resolving audit issues. Represent clients in front of tax authorities as needed.Internal Collaboration & Mentorship:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and finance, to ensure tax strategies align with the broader financial goals. Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax associates, reviewing their work and helping them develop their skills.Client Interaction:
Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing timely and clear communication regarding their tax positions. Address questions and concerns, and ensure clients understand the tax implications of their decisions.Tax Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare detailed reports and documentation supporting tax positions, including explanations of tax strategies and recommendations. Ensure that all supporting materials are well-organized and easily accessible for review or audits.Process Improvement & Efficiency:
Continuously assess and recommend improvements to the firm's tax processes and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance client satisfaction.Continuing Education & Professional Development:
Stay current on changes in tax laws, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements. Participate in professional development opportunities, including seminars, courses, and conferences. Qualifications3+ years of tax accounting experience in a public accounting environmentMust hold a valid CPA licenseExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTax-related certifications or training (e.g., specialized tax courses, continuing education) are a plus.Eager to grow a long-term career in public accountingDetail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
