KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern for our Commercial Japanese practice in Business Tax Services.

Responsibilities: Assist in advising clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including compliance, planning and researchHelp prepare corporate tax returns for Japanese-owned companies doing business in the United StatesAssist with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740 and IAS 12) reported on financial statementsWork as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a wide range of tax services to Japanese-based companiesBuild capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and moreAct with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environmentQualifications: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors and/or Mastersin accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial or systems), or equivalent programPreferred: Degrees and/or areas of study: Accounting and TaxationPursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business (the state in which the office is located) for this position (completion of academic credits required prior to starting as a Tax Associate)Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirementsPreferred GPA of 3.0 or aboveBilingual in English and Japanese with ability to use both Japanese and English language skills in a business environmentCoursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data and analytics preferredDemonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and OutlookExcellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality workAbility to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BIMust reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportationAbility to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short noticeAuthorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future is preferredKPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.

California Salary Range: $72000 - $85000
