Position Summary:
Kemper is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Tax Department based in our Chicago office.
We are looking for a Tax Manager, who will work closely with teammates to help prepare and review federal and state income tax provisions, returns and cash settlements, along with related tax projects and planning.
This role will also help deliver on efforts to transform how the Tax Department delivers value to the organization.
Position Responsibilities: Prepare monthly/quarterly tax provision workpapers Record journal entries Direct offshore resources Prepare federal and state tax returns, including subgroup consolidations Determine federal and state estimated payments and annual extensions Oversee ledger reconciliations Assist with technology implementation and process improvements Conduct research and analysis Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field 4+ years of relevant tax experience Knowledge and experience with ASC 740 required, experience with SSAP 101 preferred Excellent Excel skills Technology driven (experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Corptax, OneSource preferred) Independent worker and self-starter Detail-oriented, organized with excellent problem-solving skills Effective interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills The selected candidate will work a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to our office in Chicago, IL.
The range for this position is $70,700 to $120,900.
