About the Tax Manager Role: As a Tax Manager at Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz, you will oversee a team of tax professionals and a robust book of business. Your primary responsibilities will include managing complex tax projects for high net worth individuals, businesses, and nonprofits. You will ensure that our clients receive expert tax advice and services that leverage our big firm experience while maintaining the personalized touch of a smaller firm. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations, as well as a strong ability to lead and develop our tax team to deliver accurate and efficient tax solutions. Your strategic insights will directly contribute to the financial success of our clients and the growth of our firm. Responsibilities: Entity and Personal Tax Return Review: Review tax returns for entities (Forms 1065, 1120, and 1120-S) and individuals (Form 1040 and supporting schedules). Payroll Tax: Manage federal, state, and local payroll tax return filings. Client Accounting Review: Review and adjust internal or external client-prepared accounting records. Tax Planning: Regularly engage with clients for accounting and tax planning, offering strategic insights. Recordkeeping : Ensure compliance with firm recordkeeping procedures. Client Interaction: Professionally communicate with clients via various channels, fostering strong relationships. Team Leadership and Project Management: Lead and mentor teams in complex tax and accounting projects. Oversee project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and drive initiatives. Special Projects: Support the team on additional tasks and unique projects that contribute to the firm's success. Qualifications: Experience Requirements: Minimum of 7 years in public accounting or a related field, demonstrating a capacity for leadership and high-level tax management. Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license are required.  Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, extensive experience with major tax software programs, and thorough knowledge of QuickBooks (both Desktop and Online editions). Analytical Abilities: Detail-oriented with a proven ability to scrutinize and improve financial processes. Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clear and effective client and team interactions. Organizational Competence: Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to task and time management, ensuring efficient workflow and deadline adherence. Confidentiality: Trusted ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Professional Attributes: Demonstrates proven adaptability to new processes and technologies, enhancing job performance and office efficiency. Experience leading teams, using innovation to inspire and improve organizational outcomes. Benefits and Compensation: Competitive Base Salary: The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, depending on the candidate's experience. Performance Bonuses: An annual bonus is available, tied to both individual performance and the overall success of the firm, evaluated post-tax season. Healthcare Coverage: Comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance are provided, with the firm covering 85% of the premiums while the employee contributes 15%. Retirement Savings: A 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match to help build future financial security.
