Whalen CPAs is currently seeking a Tax Manager with a desire to grow and advance. Role and Responsibilities:Completes, oversees and reviews tax return preparation including completion of planning and wrap-up proceduresMaintains and develops strong relationships with clients by meeting with client leaders and other stakeholders to understand their business and trends in their industrySupervises, trains and instructs staff and senior associates on engagements and ensures all deliverables are accurate and conclusions are documented properlyOversees creation of engagement plans and approaches for team members and confirms all firm standards are metEvaluates and adjusts engagement processes and approaches to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficientlySupports department's overall planning efforts including assignment of projects, creation of project budgets and development of department's staffing planMonitors and reviews engagement realization reports and budgets for projects they overseeReviews client issues, evaluates solutions, determines recommended approach and communicates with clients and firm leadersOversees technical research completed by team members and provides a summary of findings to engagement team and clients as neededPerforms complex technical researchFocuses on professional and leadership development Participates in hiring, on-boarding and training programs for departmentSupports and participates in implementation of special projects to improve the department and firm Position Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting requiredMinimum 5 years of experience in professional services roleCPA requiredAdvanced knowledge of IRS regulations is requiredExperience conducting complex technical research and drawing conclusions from researchAdvanced knowledge of relevant computer applications including Microsoft Applications Strong interpersonal and communication skills is requiredProblem analysis and problem solvingDevelopment of leadership skills is requiredExperience managing engagement teamsConfidentiality and professionalism Whalen CPAs is an equal opportunity employer.
