About the Job: Tax Manager, International This prestigious regional CPA firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee international tax operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity. Assumes full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegates to the various tax preparers as deemed necessary. Shows thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills needed for advising clients. Ensures all tasks related to client service are accomplished within budgeted time. Actively participates in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the Auditing and Accounting Department with larger clients. Serves as a resource for tax preparers/specialists and A&A staff on specific tax issues and/or questions. Takes on tax preparation for more complex business returns. Manages client service for clients worked directly with or delegated from the Partner. Communicates important tax and tax developments affecting the firm's clients to appropriate personnel. Manages and delegates governmental tax examinations; may represent the client before the appropriate taxing authorities. Ensures smooth flow of tax returns through the tax preparation system for accurate, complete, and timely preparation and delivery. Adheres to accurate and timely billing and collection processes. Participates in firm practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities. Minimum Position Qualifications: At least five to seven years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research. International consulting and compliance experience necessary. Familiarity with both US domestic and international tax compliance forms for HNW individuals, pass-through entities, and corporations. Understanding of international tax concepts like subpart F, GILTI, PFIC, foreign tax credit calculation, and income tax treaties. Minimum of one year experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers. Bachelor's degree in accounting mandatory. A current and valid certified public accountant's license or JD is required. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in taxation. Supervisory Responsibilities and Skills: Responsible for the development, coaching, and training of Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants. Familiarity with the qualifications of all Tax staff members to develop and instruct their training needs efficiently. Participates in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department to ensure high performance and compliance with standards.
