About the role: Our tax, accounting, and bookkeeping team handles tax planning and accounting services for clients. It's a small team that moves quickly and is focused on delivering a best in class client experience.
In this role, you'll interact with clients and our internal team to answer complex tax and retirement questions, help build systems and processes to keep us organized as we scale, and work with the team to deliver on the tax savings value proposition that our team is focused on. We believe in high agency and ownership, and you'll have the opportunity to have a large impact in Carry's products and services as we continue to grow.
You will: Serve as the subject matter expert for clients on tax questions, communicating via email and video calls
Work with external tax and accounting partners to ensure returns and filings incorporate our tax planning guidance and specific client needs
Coordinate with our internal team of retirement, accounting, and bookkeeping experts on other aspects of client financials
Track and organize work streams and establish processes for scaling the tax program at Carry
Partner with our product and technology team to continue our buildout of software and automation
Who you are: Strong interest in the nuances of individual and small business tax, and drive to meaningfully improve client financials through tax optimization opportunities and advice
Self-motivated and thrives in high-agency environment
Highly organized and process driven
Qualifications: CPA, CFP, or EA; PFS credential a plus
Experience with 1040, Schedule C, 1065, 1120, 1120-S
Background in tax planning and optimization
Strong research and written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with digital tools and automation
