Salary: $40,200.00 Annually Location : Gwinnett County, GA Job Type: Full-Time Non-Merit Job Number: 24-02618 Department: Tax Commissioner's Office Opening Date: 10/21/2024 Closing Date: 12/21/2024 11:59 PM Eastern FLSA: Non-Exempt Class Summary Job Description The Tax Service Associate I is responsible for providing assistance to customers in person and/or over the phone regarding tax/tag issues.
Duties include Reviewing various documents and making necessary changes, collecting payments from customers and keeping daily records of receivables, maintaining various records and files related to the tax/tag department, preparing various correspondence and reports for the department or external customers, maintaining inventory of supplies and performing other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
Grade The grade for this position is B21(1).
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Two years of customer service or related experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Or, and equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Other Job Requirements/Information Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a background check is required to include motor vehicle & criminal histories.
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications Property Tax related experience Must be flexible with work schedule and hours.

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation.
Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County's values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials.
These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law.
In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
