YOUR ROLE The TCA Software Engineer's primary focus is to contribute to our proprietary cloud-based Transaction Cost Analysis platform, which is used to measure, monitor, and optimize trade execution costs. Primary responsibilities include:
Develop new features, including analytics, reports, and visualizations, to help traders understand the impact of their trading decisions and improve their processes Build tools used by trading quants to monitor and fine-tune trading algorithm performance Work closely with trading quants to resolve issues and answer questions to support their research Support the production process, ensuring the daily analytics pipeline runs smoothly Identify and implement technical platform enhancements to manage costs, reduce runtime, and simplify maintenance QUALIFICATIONS A successful candidate must have:
Three or more years of experience building data-intensive applications Excellent computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills Proficiency using Python, Pandas, and SQL to develop applications and perform data analysis Experience working in a cloud ecosystem, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Comfort working independently through complexity in a fast-paced environment Strong communications skills, a great attitude, and the ability to build strong working relationships The ideal candidate may also have:
Deep knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ECS, S3, and MWAA Exposure to distributed data processing tools such as Databricks and Apache Spark Data engineering skills: data warehouses, data modeling, and common ELT tools & techniques Familiarity with supplementary tools such as Apache Airflow, Tableau, and Terraform Experience working in a buy-side asset manager or other financial services firm Viking is an equal opportunity employer.
