Rewards: Team Members Recognition Awards Annual Leave: Annual leave accrual 12.07% to be paid at end of fixed term contract Induction: Paid inductions subject to completing full contractual contract Bonus for Eligible Returners: £20 per week Overview: Teachers on our Future Technologists summer programme are responsible for delivering effective lessons with measurable outcomes and acting as facilitators for First Lego League® sessions, including the Robot Games, to our learners from all over the world. There is some necessary paperwork to complete and weekly reports to write for students. You will adhere to BSC Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policies while working with us. You might be asked to participate in non-academic duties if the need arises. The main duties and responsibilities are listed below: Duties: Plan and Deliver language focused and engaging lessons.Teach 30 hours a week + 12 hours of activities/excursions/pastoral dutiesWork 6 days a week (Monday-Sunday)Follow BSC Future technologists' syllabusCommunicate enthusiasm and instil confidence in learners particularly in regard to STEM topicsComplete weekly planners, attendance sheets, and student reportsBe observed and receive feedbackWork as part of the academic team and support the summer team as a wholeAttend and participate in academic meetings and INSETT sessionsComplete pre-employment curriculum trainingAssist with placement testing Attend induction held at the centreRemain professional at all timesComply with BSC Uniform Policy (BSC t-shirts are providedComply with BSC Centre rules and regulationsChild Protection & Safeguarding To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for and come into contact with. Familiarise yourself with the BSC Young Learners Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and BSC Safeguarding Policy.To adhere to the BSC Young Learners Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and BSC Safeguarding Policy.Report any student absence to the Welfare Team and Director of StudiesReport safeguarding issues if/when they occurComplete BSC Safeguarding Level 1 Online before you arrive at the centre Other Work positively as part of a teamDemonstrate a positive attitudeAttend and participate in all centre team meetings.  Act in the welfare of the students at all timesTo carry out any duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Centre Qualifications and Experience: CELTA/ Trinity TESOL/ B.Ed. in TEFL/TESOL/ PGCE in languages with QTS plus experience teaching ESL studentsExperience working with young learners is desirableHigh level of computer literacy, particularly MS Office, email, and use of databases Excellent lesson planning skills Have an interest in problem-solving and STEM-related topicsProven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on fostering creative thinking and enthusiasm in studentsAdaptability and flexibilityAbility to work well in a team Ability to remain calm under pressure Enthusiasm for summer school life? Right to work in the UK/EU (depending on the respective centre)Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.Knowledge of First Lego League programme is desirable but not essentialFurther Information Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Statement At BSC Education we believe in empowering individuals, celebrating diversity and striving for equality.
