Started off as a social care worker and quickly made promotion to team leader. Am now doing a management development programme and salary is reflected to my promotion. Love the people I work with. Get paid to go on holiday with people. Have dinner with people. It's like a family

I have worked within CCG for around 6 year now in the same home, I enjoy the people rather than the job itself. Its an easy job if your not to bothered about your role, they will interview anyone and usually know if they are going to offer you the job before you have done an interview anyway as they are crying out for staff! Its minimum wage and with NO benefits and no incentive to make you want to try harder, they love giving out promotions however dont think youre special usually this is to help them with staffing even if youre not capable of the job just so they cover their backs.
Working throughout the whole pandemic theres not a single day off I think it was absolutely disgusting that the staff didnt even get a thank you let alone a bonus or pay rise. I had colleagues thats for working 70+ hours a week to help cover Im not once did they get a thank you. Choice knows that the pay isnt great and that people need the OT so usually you have no choice, take-home pay for a senior member of staff with no overtime is around 1200
Pros Get a day off in the week, easy work
Cons No OT Rate, uses peoples caring nature to their advantage to do the dirty work, annual leave has to be booked a year in advance and taken into half's, you are not allowed any breaks, dont give time off when a loved one had died, all managers from other homes discuss confidential things together

I really enjoy working for Choice Care Group and would definitely recommend the company to others. Training and career progression is excellent, with some great company benefits.
