In this position...
We are taking our Engineering & Maintenance Team Managers to the next level. These talented employees are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the Ford Production System.
What you'll do...
Lead Engineering & Maintenance teams in production scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of Final Department equipment
Lead project writing and process of collecting and evaluating data in sound business cases
Coach, Counsel and Teach the team's GSR's to handle and lead multi-dollar projects
Coordinate the resources and activities of engineering & maintenance organization to meet the production schedule within budgetary limitations and time constraints
Participates in production scheduling, staffing, procurement and maintenance of equipment, quality control, inventory control, and the coordination of production activities with those of other departments
Analyze the plant's personnel and capital resources to determine the best way(s) of meeting the production quota
Monitor the production run to make sure that it stays on schedule and correct any problems that may arise
Promote and ensure constant improvement in the E & M organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, plant competitiveness and total cost structure
Ensure the department complies with government/industry standards
Coordinate the resources and activities required to ensure problem free start-ups
Facilitate start-up / shift to shift meetings
Evaluate and deliver FTPM measurable
Promote and support Small Team Work Groups
Champion constraint analysis and coordinate activities to eliminate bottlenecks
Ensure deliverables are aligned with VIM Action Matrix, 5-year plan, JPH Package
Establish the goal of maximizing equipment effectiveness to improve productivity
Review/approve preventative maintenance activities
Address department Health and Safety concerns
Review department safety measurables & coordinate improvement activities
Drive SQCDMME
Manage budgets
You'll have...
Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Controls or Automation engineering
5 or more years in engineering & maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of Production process and environment
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and a history of empowering/developing employees
Validated fluidity interacting with all employees in the organization
In depth experience in assembly manufacturing processes
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including working knowledge of Six Sigma
Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally as a team
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
Demonstrated conflict management skills
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organization skills
A history of successfully delivering results in a fast paced environment
Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Controls or Automation engineering
5 or more years of engineering and maintenance experience in an automotive engineering environment
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Knowledge of constraint management principles
Safety and Quality experience
Prior experience managing a unionized work force
Strong knowledge of Ford systems
Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
