JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the basic technical knowledge needed for the successful operation of lighting elements for assigned Entertainment venue, project, or event, to ensure highest levels of show quality and a positive guest experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with installation/set-up, operation, strike, and maintenance of lighting equipment for the assigned project, event, or venue under the direction of the Tech II or above. Apply basic troubleshooting in assembly of gear and checking equipment.
Under the direction of Tech II or above, responsible for cleaning, maintenance, and restock of lighting equipment as returned to the warehouse post project or event.
Operate spotlights for live show, both cued and non-scripted.
Communicates to team and/or Lead regarding technical problems, issues, and/or concerns.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Technical school, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum of 1 year of experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Basic knowledge of moving lights, conventional fixtures, cables & connectors, power distribution, dimmers and lighting accessories, and computer skills including Microsoft office.
Ability to follow instructions from a Tech II or above and execute
Basic ability to troubleshoot and ability to measure continuity and voltage with a meter
Good understanding of signal flow including power and DMX
Preferred:
Basic ability to read lighting plots.
Willing to learn to drive large box trucks up to 26' (non-CDL).
Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic knowledge of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, sit down fork lift, high reach, scissor lift, man basket, and order picker, (warehouse).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
As directed, may assist in technical training and implementation of all training materials. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members.
