Responsibilities Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025!
When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years!
This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8.
This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community.
This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports.
We are seeking a Medical Lab Technologist (ASCP/REG) to perform laboratory analysis and administrative tasks associated with clinical assessment of patients.
Performs highly complex testing.
Execute tasks required to maintain accreditation with JCAHO, CAP, DCRA, AABB, and FDA.
Evaluates specimens and requisitions for acceptability as indicated in departmental policy.
Performs specimen analysis in accordance with policies and procedures of laboratory section and Department of Pathology.
Utilizes laboratory information system to document all aspects of testing and associated communication.
Records and verifies test results accurately in laboratory computer system.
Maintains accurate and thorough patient records.
Performs one or more of the following as determined by laboratory section; administrative review of records, specialized testing, oversee maintenance of equipment, inventory management or oversight of workflow of shifts.
This position is open to techs that are generalists, blood bank or microbiology technologists.

Qualifications Education Requirements: Medical Technologist (ASCP) certification or eligible to obtain, or Bachelors degree in Biological Science.
Experience: Five years or more of related experience as a medical technologist.
License / Certification: Medical Technologist (ASCP) or eligible to obtain As required by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), employee with access to blood irradiator in the Transfusion Service section must be subjected to fingerprinting and a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identification and criminal history records check.
