Basic technical work in contract administration, processing of water and sewer capital/assessment projects, preparing bid documents, reviewing engineering consultant and construction bid proposals.
Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information via a computer utilizing an array of software programs, including but not limited to Excel, Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), Advantage, Word, Outlook, internet, intranet, SharePoint.
Assists with review of bid tabulations from potential contractors; performs bid evaluations; checks references, licenses, etc.
Maintains inventory of materials and supplies; places orders when needed.
Work is performed under the direction of a technical superior and is reviewed in progress and upon completion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification supplemented by a certificate of completion from a vocational training program or two (2) years of college-level coursework in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Data Processing or Computer Science; minimum of one (1) year of experience in contract administration.
Equivalency: Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Data Processing or Computer Science.
PREFERENCE FOR TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN/WITH: Working in utility operations and maintenance field (must specify on application); performing responsible office work (must specify on application); using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint.
Also desirable: Familiarity with local government Records Management policies and procedures (must specify on application); knowledge of geography of Palm Beach County (must specify on application); knowledge of the Office of Equal Business Opportunity (OEBO) programs or a similar agency (must specify on application).
