POSITION OVERVIEWHighly skilled Mill Operations Trainer that will perform on the job training to advance the skills and ability of the mill operational work force while demonstrating, coaching, and teaching the tasks associated with the operations of the various ore processing circuits at the Concentrator. This position is a hands-on assignment that will work side-by-side with the workforce to ensure knowledge transfer and the use of best practices in the mill operational circuits.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Provide individual mentoring and training for the mill operational work force.• Review and update standard operating procedures and job task instructions.• Recommend and assist in the development of action plans to continuously improve the operational processes and reliability.• Continually reinforce best safety practices, company policy and ensure that the work force knows the hazards associated with working around mechanical & electrical systems.• Perform training and complete task training documentation for all circuits, overhead cranes and mobile equipment associated with the operating circuits.• Advance the skills and ability of the operational work force by instructing and/or demonstrating the ability to operate and/or perform inspections for:o Primary Crusher Circuito Grinding Circuito Flotation Circuito Regrind Circuito Tailings Circuit including all fresh water and reclaim water systemso Filter Plant Circuito Cyclone Inspectionso Screen Deck Inspections and Panel Replacementso Flotation Inspectionso Idler Inspectionso Pump Swapso Filter Bag Replacements• Perform weekly evaluations for employees on probation to ensure there continual positive work performance.• Administer Circuit Proficiency testing for employee advancement.• Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES• Advanced Knowledge (Operator A Level) of Mill Circuit Operations and procedures.• Knowledge of procedures for operations and inspections of all equipment in the ore processing circuit.• Knowledge of standard maintenance practices within the ore processing circuit.• Strong leadership skills.• Ability to teach and mentor.• Ability to read, understand, and apply information from manuals, drawings, prints, related to the operations of equipment within the ore processing circuit.• Mentor and/or train operational employees.• Ability to be trained and to operate equipment that may be introduced into the ore processing circuit.• Applicant must have effective written, visual, electronic, and verbal communication skills.• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions and procedures given in English.• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.• Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.• Ability to manage multiple tasks.• Ability to think under stressful and adverse conditions.• Must have teamwork, problem solving and negotiation skills.• The physical requirements of the position are considered Heavy Work: Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.• The ability to work in conditions of extreme heat, extreme cold, and vibration. May involve work with or near chemicals including but not limited to airborne and/or skin exposure, high noise levels, confined spaces, and heights.• Ability to wear respirator in conditions of fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.• Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, and the like with agility.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• 5 years related experience as an Operator in the Concentrator Ore Processing Circuit.• Must have high school diploma or GED.• English language fluency.
