The Monterey Bay Aquarium has taken a strong, public stance and made a significant investment in promoting diverse voices in ocean science and conservation. For too long, Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color, as well as LGBTQIA+ people, have been underrepresented in marine science and conservation fields.
This role will be onsite at least 3 days/month to collaborate with teams and stakeholders in Monterey.
This Technical Project Manager will be:Working with Vice President of Technology and Innovation, product team, and others across the organization to ensure the project is completed within scope and on deadline.Spearheading project management for the website CMS, e-commerce, and CRM initiatives by coordinating concurrent teams and workstreams.Ensuring that the organization successfully implements Salesforce's nonprofit tool and aligns larger business goals with technology updates.Creating project reports detailing project status, budget actuals and forecasts, impact, risks, resources, and estimates for all stakeholders across the organization.Advising senior leadership on project risks, challenges, and opportunities to ensure work continues to meet strategic commitments. Use discretion and diplomacy when providing sensitive information about vendors, teams, or individual performance.Managing budgets and burndown reports for the project and its deliverables.Supporting teams on training and operations to support new enterprise systems.Skills/Experience:Minimum 5+ years of experience managing digital projects within product teams, CRM, websites, and e-commerce platforms from soup to nuts.Has managed a new CRM implementation within an organization.Proven ability in keeping stakeholders accountable, maintaining a timeline, ensuring deadlines are met, leading meetings, and maintaining agile flows.Has managed project budgets ($1.5+ million) and multi-year schedules.
