Job Description: The Technical Sales Account Manager is responsible for delivering profitable sales growth by providing account management and technical services within the Americas Oxidation catalyst market, focusing on sulfuric acid applications/customers. This position will be our primary market interface for process and product improvements, feeding information learned back into the marketing organizations.
Key Responsibilities include: Strategic account management:Identification of new business opportunities (established products and new products) at established as well as new customersImplementation of specific account strategiesImplementation of product segment strategies (in collaboration with Product Technology Manager)Develop and execute account plansFinancial management:Sales forecasting/demand planningCustomer management:Continuous management of customer relationshipsPrimary commercial and technical interfaceCommercial offers including pricing, incoterms, negotiation, etc.Execution of pricing strategy for relevant portfolioOn-site service:Start-up assistanceCatalysts filling supervisionTroubleshooting and process optimizationPressure drop measurementsOff-site service:Analysis/yield measurementsComputer modelingQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Engineering required. Chemical Engineering preferred.Broad knowledge of catalysis and chemical processes.5+ years required in Technical Sales and/or Technical Service.Demonstrated stewardship of safe work practices.Prior sales experience with chemical catalysts or petrochemical industry is desirable.Must possess superior communication, interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact with key decision-makers at all levels at both customers and internal management.Demonstrated contract development and negotiation skills preferred.Demonstrated technical service skills supported by integrity, critical thinking, decision-making, strong interpersonal skills, self-starting, ability to work successfully in a team environment, good written and oral communication skills.Must have the ability to make cold calls and prospect new business at both new and existing accounts.Must be able to exhibit strong commercial/negotiation skills, develop credibility with technical presentations.Must have demonstrated computer skills including data management and analysis with specific competencies in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.Able to understand and execute customer and product strategies in connection to business strategy.Ability to travel 50% or more of the time visiting customers.Additional Information:All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
