We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Technical Sales Rep to join a leading Company located in the Waite Park, MN surrounding area.
The Technical Sales Representative role includes a combination of selling skills and mechanical knowledge. The sales element requires knowing industries, markets, customers, and trends. Strong customer relationship skills and product/process knowledge are required to be successful. Technical knowledge and mechanical aptitude are necessary to collaborate on designs, cost reductions, and new ways of satisfying customer needs.
Responsibilities:
Current customer relationships – provide top-notch service to customersLearn the breadth of their business and exploit all opportunities for business with each customer; This can be done by increasing the customer's share of their business or helping them to win new businessIncreasing both sales revenue and margin with each customer is the measure of success in this areaProspecting for new business – pursue new opportunities with current customers and new prospects to grow our customer baseFind customers in relevant industries to broaden the markets we serveNew customers added are the measure of success in this areaIndustry / Market / Customer Knowledge – Knowledge of customers, prospects, and their markets is crucial to success in maintaining current business and pursuing new opportunitiesUnderstanding both history and trends is importantPrecision Measurement / Design Concepts / Granite Materials Knowledge – Knowledge of these elements is necessary to establish credibility and add value for prospects and customersProspecting – Continually read business and industry news to find new prospectsResearching prospects and making contact by phone, email, and on-site visits (as appropriate)Estimating – Estimating competitive pricing through innovative design ideas and accurate JobBOSS routingsWorking closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales colleagues to develop good estimatesInfluence customers toward designs that play to our company's strengthsProject Management – Developing overall project plans as necessary for complicated projectsMonitoring progress on those plans to ensure successful, on-time completion to meet customer requirementsBasic Hiring Criteria:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or equivalent experienceMinimum 5 years of related experience in sales, precision measurement, production routing, and estimating or related roles in a manufacturing settingDesired Qualifications:
