Job Brief:The Technical Service Engineer implements automation solutions for the revamping and new installation of control systems for Intelligent Guides in Long Products Rolling Mills. Works with the Service Group, Project Management, and Technical Departments. This position is in our Danieli USA headquarters located in Cranberry, PA.
Tasks and Day-to-Day Activities in the role:Implement PLC based automation control systems that include motion control, advanced sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.Support existing installed systems.Complete sophisticated assignments requiring development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures.Interface and communicate with local project team (project managers, engineers, support personnel) and internal experts as well customers and suppliers to provide engineering solutions to technical issues and project-related matters.Conduct integrated testing and simulation of entire system before delivery to the end customer.Perform on site commissioning and training as required.Skills and Must Have's:Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).Experience in automation and/or automation practices.Experience with Siemens TIA Portal (Mandatory).Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT-3 (Desired).Experience commissioning electro-mechanical equipment in the Steel Industry (Desired).Demonstrates ability to apply engineering principles to the solution of design problems.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent computer skills.Be willing to travel domestically to support commissioning projects.Be willing to travel internationally for training.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
