About the role:
Gen3 is looking for a Technical Writer to support our client, UNICOR. As a Technical Writer, you'll meet with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation. The Technical Writer will be preparing SOPs and other technical documents for the functional area.  They will organize and prepare information and data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications requiring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields. The Technical Writer will work with end users to gather information and convert it into written narratives and documents. Location:  Hybrid-remote, Washington, D.C.  What you'll do: The Technical Writer must have experience writing for federal contractors, be comfortable working with various teammates and subject matter experts, and be able to produce under strict time constraints. Work with SMEs to gain an understanding of Technical Concepts for production in technical publications. Organize, prepare, and translate technical details into understandable text for various audiences.  Create, edit, and proofread content and other technical and administrative publications. Maintain high-quality outcomes by utilizing templates and adhering to technical writing standards, including clarity, consistency, and tone, including 508-compliance. What you'll need: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of related and relevant experience in technical writing. Strong writing skills with attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to various audiences. What's desired to have:? Previous experience supporting federal or state agencies, especially UNICOR, DOJ, or the prison system is highly desired. *Position is pending contract award.

Other requirements: A minimum of three (3) out of the past five (5) years of residency in the United States is mandatory. Candidates must possess either an active green card or citizenship. Those selected for this role may undergo a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility criteria for accessing classified information or be eligible for security clearances.
