Technical Writer

Description SAIC is looking for a Technical Writer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Write technical manuals, training manuals, and standard operating procedures for prototypes undergoing development. These manuals are prototypes themselves and are held to a shifting portfolio standard, not Navy or Crane doctrine. Write lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for equipment, including Hazard Analysis (HA) of procedures. These are standard Crane SOPs and written to that standard. Write test reports with support from Subject Matter Experts (SME) / team engineers. Obtain and maintain certification in Hazard Analysis via NSWC Crane offered training. Obtain and maintain certification in Non-Ordnance SOP Writing via NSWC Crane offered training. May be required to attend local meetings and training in support of this effort. Qualifications REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted. Must be proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Must be a US Citizen. Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process. DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Active secret clearance. Experience with Adobe FrameMaker.
