Technician I - Audio Visual

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Audio Visual Technician to join our company, someone who can conduct the successful set-up, operation, and strike of audio/visual equipment.
The role is highly critical in ensuring high-quality event technology services, linking with departmental standards, values, and procedures.
The successful hire will utilize their unique strengths and professional skills for customer service, high-end client relations, production knowledge, team leadership, equipment competency (e.g., audio, video, lighting, data/telecom, rigging), and installed facility assets (e.g., hang-points, Mazak, IDF's, dimming systems).


Job Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities will be performed:

1.
Coordinate with the team to manage the installation, operation, and maintenance of all audio/visual equipment and technology products.

2.
Ensure all audio/visual systems operate optimally to meet client requirements and that they are appropriately tested.

3.
Evaluate and troubleshoot errors to prevent downtime and malfunction.

4.
Manage incoming requests, queue monitoring, prioritize emergency calls, and maintain records of all services provided.

5.
Keep all equipment, catalogs, and manuals in an organized and accessible manner.

6.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, including ongoing maintenance of equipment.

7.
Communicate information effectively with colleagues and clients, conveying technical and non-technical data in non-jargonistic terms for ease of understanding.

8.
Provide technical support to end-users as and when necessary.


Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience handling the installation and maintenance of audio/visual equipment.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

- Lighting knowledge and experience are highly sought
- An associate's degree or technical certification in Audio Engineering, Recording Arts, or a related field would be highly preferred.

- Knowledge of Audio/Visual equipment such as sound mixers, microphones, signal processors, video projectors, computer systems, and audio cables is required.

- Knowledge and familiarity with programming languages like Python is an added benefit.

- Exceptional organizational and communication skills both written and oral.

- The ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a member of the team.
