Overview National multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a talented Technology Designer for their Building Technology team in their Northern or Southern California office.
This role requires excellent time management, communication, and technical skills as you work closely with your internal project team and consultants!
The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for systems thinking, interest in communications, networking, security, audio/visual, web-based, and app-enabled technologies.
The firm has 11 offices all around the world focusing on healthcare, arts and culture, community, corporate, education, and government projects.
Recently, the firm won the prestigious American Architecture Award for Museums and Cultural Building, along with IIDA Healthcare Design Award.
Responsibilities Works under the guidance of the Project Engineer in the design of project solutions and construction documents with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and constructability.
Creates plans and specification documentation communicating design intent and requirements to clients and contractors. Performs engineering design calculations. Researches code issues and works with City, State and County officials. Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with clients and other team members. Maintains, organizes and archives all project related documents. Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned. Use computer programs and modeling tools for complex engineering analysis and presentations. Contribute to department design standards and protocols. Qualifications Preferred candidates will have:
BS or MS degree in electrical engineering. 5-10 years of experience in the design of lighting, power and communications systems for healthcare, commercial and/or educational project types. Professional licensure, or the ability to obtain licensure, is required. Documented experience with a consulting engineering firm or A/E firm providing electrical design. Knowledge of current technology applicable to IES, IECC, LEED and ASHRAE requirements and all applicable codes (city, state, federal) as well as knowledge of National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code (NFPA/NEC) Standards are essential. Proficiency with Revit software, as well as excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with electrical analysis software (i.e.
SKM, Easy Power) and knowledge of the current sustainable technologies applicable to the design of commercial electrical systems. Please Note: Delays may be experienced if uploading portfolio pdf.
