Murfreesboro City Schools Security Administrator Department of Technology Credentials: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience with Firewalls, VPN administration, security software and Windows computers.
Other Qualifications: Basic knowledge of networking principals including basic switching and routing.
Basic knowledge of network security principals and best practices.
Possess or obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
Possess or obtain Cisco Certified Network Associate in Security within 6 months of employment.
Physical Demands: The person in this position must have and maintain the intellectual, sensory, emotional and physical abilities necessary for the effective and safe performance of duty; must be active and interactive throughout the day; be able to occasionally lift and carry objects which exceed fifty (50) pounds and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
This person must be able to push, pull, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, talk, articulate clearly, hear, see, climb and crawl; work in extreme temperatures; tolerate dust, chemicals and other substances and environmental conditions associated with the job; be emotionally mature able to work cooperatively, cope with stress appropriately and be able to abruptly change planned tasks in a composed manner.
Essential Job Functions: This employee is responsible for maintaining and insuring network and data security for Murfreesboro City Schools.
Other essential job functions include:
Cisco Advanced Malware Protection Maintain and configure management and client software.
Address any issues that arise with end clients.
Update management and client software as recommended by Cisco.
Cisco Firewalls Install, configure, and maintain internal Cisco firewall to provide a DMZ for all internal servers protected by IPS.
Configure, install, and maintain Cisco firewall for VPN access.
ENA Firewall and Content Filtering Collaborate and coordinate with Network Engineer and Systems Administrator for firewall requests needed within the district.
Monitor and maintain content filtering making changes as needed.
Security and Phishing Software Maintain and configure district phishing training software.
Conduct scheduled training/phishing campaigns Provide regular updates on campaign results.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain and troubleshoot MultiFactor Authentication Software Ensure users are added to MFA software Handle end user changes / issues Monitor license usage Staff Relationship: Reports directly to Director of Technology.
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month position, salary and benefits set annually.
