Purpose Statement
The job of Technology Support Specialist I is done for the purpose/s of configuring, securing, repairing, and supporting district IT equipment including assisting with staff, student, classroom and operational devices/infrastructure at the district; ensuring data and network security; managing user access and maintaining related records; assisting in the computer/server/network rooms; and providing technical support to district and site staff.
Essential Functions
Tier 1 break-fix tech for IT issues at the district
Supporting staff, students, classrooms and operational IT equipment of the district
Assisting with account issues, passwords, permissions, etc
Troubleshooting and configuring the district's network
Supporting printers, phones, time clocks and other district IT equipment
Performs software installations and upgrades
Provides IT support for various activities such as swim meets or track meets
Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. staff meetings, workshops, seminars, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information required to perform job functions.
Prepares written materials (e.g. procedures, system level documentation, reports, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information.
Researches work-related topics (e.g. trends, products, equipment, tests, etc.) for the purpose of recommending procedures and purchases.
Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff, administrators, school site personnel, outside vendors and service providers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance and
Troubleshoots network-related problems (e.g. system slowness, connectivity issues, etc.) for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services.
