Position Summary
Temporary Project Attorneys periodically assist the firm's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Records & E-Discovery Team with discovery projects using various review software tools.
Primary responsibilities include conducting document reviews for responsiveness, privilege, and key issue content.
Interested candidates should have at least one (1) year of experience working with specialized E-Discovery software.
Candidates for the Temporary Project Attorney position must be actively licensed in good standing and reside in one of the following jurisdictions:
Delaware
Illinois
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Virginia
Washington DC
Temporary Project Attorneys will be engaged on a project basis and paid at an hourly rate for hours worked.
The rate of pay is $29 per hour.
The duration of employment will start on November 11th, 2024, and will last 4-5 weeks.
Selected candidates will be expected to work a 40-hour week during regular business hours (between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 8 hours per day-Monday through Friday.
Participation in conference and Zoom/Teams calls are frequently required, and daily, accurate time entry is mandatory.
A personal computer and secure internet connection is required.
Selected candidates will work remotely.
Outside legal work is not permitted during the duration of employment with Reed Smith.
Prior large-scale document review experience strongly preferred.
Essential Functions
Ability to efficiently and accurately review documents using review software.
Timely and accurately record daily timekeeping.
Must work cohesively with team members in a very collaborative environment.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Required to provide timely responses to email/phone messages.
Proficient in MS suite of software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
Teams, and Excel.
Strong work ethic and commitment to providing high quality legal service to clients.
Requirements
Education: Juris Doctor.
Qualified candidates must be, at the time of application and throughout the course of the project, licensed to practice law and in good standing in Delaware, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, or Washington DC.
Due Diligence: Candidates must provide information needed to complete conflict and background checks and provide a certificate of good standing from the Court in which they are actively licensed to the Human Resource Department prior to commencing work.
Any fees related to obtaining the certificate of good standing are the responsibility of the candidates.
During the course of employment, successful candidates must maintain requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
Experience: Strong academic credentials, large law firm experience, and prior electronic document review experience preferred.
Skills: Experience with a variety of different review support tools such as Relativity, Reveal, Everlaw and the like, preferred.
