We are seeking a Test Data Engineer at the Air Force Research Lab , Edwards, AFB, CA. We are seeking highly motivated Test Data Engineer for Instrumentation Programing Engineer to support the development, setup and sustainment of test and data acquisitions systems at the AFRL. We are supporting cutting edge propulsion systems testing at the Air Force Research Center and we are looking for some of the best professionals to be a part of this research. Responsibilities: Read & interpret Plumbing and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Sit on test console and serve as a test panel operator performing propulsion systems testing Program rocket engine test sequences using a variety of programing languages Design instrumentation architectures for rocket test stands Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement control strategies Conduct testing and validation of control systems Writes test procedures for propulsion test control systems Provide technical support during installation and commissioning of systems Identify and procure equipment, and coordinate with technicians for the build, assembly, and installation of equipment and harnesses Support Test Readiness Reviews and Test Data Reviews Create and maintain documentation for both instrumentation installation and controls software We invest in the lives of our employees, both in and out of the workplace, by providing competitive pay and benefits packages. This position is offering a pay range of $76,9600 - $129,650 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. Experience programming in C++, Matlab, Python, and Visual Basic Experience working with data acquisition and control systems Familiar with typical propulsion system test instrumentation Experience with cryogenic fluids 4 years of direct experience in aerospace testing or in a related field is a plus Experience programming using LabView for mechanical testing of products MatLab/Simulink experience a plus Knowledge of instrumentation technology for monitoring and controlling pressure, temperature, and flow of pneumatic and liquid systems, as well as AC and DC power control and measurement Experience developing automated test or process facility control and data acquisition systems Knowledge of the systems development lifecycle Individual must be able to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts Individual must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision Will be required to consistently take the initiative to identify and complete tasks Ability to adapt dictated by needed changes to the test configuration Significant engineering experience and understanding of data structures to provide analytical problem solving Education/Experience Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related Engineering Degree 4 years of working in a test environment or programming systems for remote operation Propulsion system experience is preferred .
