Role Definition Work alongside the Project Manager and the Project Team as a servant-leader to ensure a unified approach to testing, a consistent customer experience, quality control, and audit preparedness for testing activities, as the project teams deliver on business partners' key business objectives.
What You Will Do: Lead adherence to testing methodologies and best practices, providing expertise and improvements in testing activities and processes. Develop comprehensive project Test Strategies that encompass all aspects of testing, including team involvement, types of testing required, reporting, communication, environments, defect management, and guidance on testing tools.Oversee project testing processes and procedures in collaboration with the Project Manager, monitoring productivity and ensuring the successful execution of testing activities by project teams. Identify and escalate roadblocks or concerns with testing early on.Communicate deadlines and due dates for testing deliverables to project teams and the Project Manager, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of testing activities. Coach and mentor other Test Managers.Prepare and present test strategy overviews, testing progress, and activities to stakeholders to demonstrate test readiness for testing events and obtain formal sign-off to officially close test events. Provide guidance to the Project Manager on key testing deliverables and milestones to be included in the Project Plan.Demonstrate strong leadership in quality assurance within the team and assigned projects, offering excellent support and coaching. Assist project teams and provide guidance for testing efforts during agile transformation. Degree Requirement: A 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study. Consideration for Top Candidates: Minimum 2 years' experience in a dedicated role leading testing activities for large and complex projects with significant technical components and/or ERP implementations, major upgrades, and/or deployments.Strong practical understanding of testing fundamentals, best practices and methodologies.Strong background in IT systems and processes, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Previous experience in working with both Agile and Waterfall methodology teams, as well as ability to be creative in merging methodologies as IS organization undergoes an Agile transformation.Knowledge in Azure DevOps Test Plans and HP Application Lifecycle Management testing tools is preferred.Experience as a software developer with an understanding of quality assurance relative to software development.Experience with working with cross-functional teams and third parties to create a unified testing approach. Skill Required: Test Management: Knowledge of effective quality assurance strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control testing activities, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve quality objectives.
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.
Additional Information: This role is a hybrid position and would require any successful candidate to commit to a 3 day per week in office requirement.
