Priority Tutor Positions for the ******** School Year
We are looking for tutors with prior high school classroom teaching experience to join our SAT/ACT/Keystone instructor team. Prior SAT/ACT teaching experience is not required but preferred.
High School Test Prep Math and/or ELA/Reading Classroom Instructor Keystone Test Prep Small Group InstructorSAT/ACT Test Prep Classroom Instructor Commitment: The commitment is between 1.5 to 6 hours per week. The instructor would need to be available anytime from 8am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday. Exact schedules would be provided in advance.
Locations include: Philadelphia Metropolitan Area including, but not limited to, Center City, Olney, South Philly, and Hunting Park, and Camden, NJ. Tutors must be open to traveling on-site to these areas and to other areas of the city as needed.
Required Qualifications 1+ years experience teaching in a high school classroom setting A bachelor's degree from an accredited university Willingness to learn SAT and ACT on the job with TEACHAvailable to travel locally in the Greater Philadelphia & Camden areas for in-person lessons Ability to complete federal and PA state background checks and clearances A zest for learning and the spark to share and build knowledge with students! Preferred Qualifications Prior experience teaching or tutoring SAT and/or ACTUnderstanding of student-centered and culturally responsive learning practices Instructor Responsibilities Prepare engaging lessons and materials to meet students' needs Review student test prep data and coach students on test taking strategies to support their growthConnect with students from diverse backgrounds and educational experiences to maximize their academic potential and to help them achieve their goals Communicate with TEACH office staff and school partners to coordinate tutoring lessons and check-in about student progress in a punctual manner and with attention to detail Participate in professional development opportunities to improve tutoring practice and connect with inspiring educators from around the greater Philadelphia area Submit time-sensitive information using our database and other online documentation Compensation $60-$100 per hour for ACT/SAT classroom teaching
