Meet the Team
In addition to noteworthy IoT products, Silicon Lab's innovative GT Tester team is responsible for a custom Automated Test solution (ATE) used for the testing of most devices manufactured by the company. This team builds and evolves the hardware and software system that orchestrates every step of the semiconductor test process at Silicon Labs. The team's work blends the expertise of a circuit designer, full stack developer, product test engineer, applications engineer and data analyst. Their work enables others' work in new product device validation and debug, qualification, manufacturing test, yield enhancement, customization, and device security.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned semiconductor expert to lead our GT Tester team. This leader will guide a team of engineers proficient in both software and hardware to address the testing challenges presented by product, marketing, and acquisition needs. Building robust relationships with Product Test, Design, Quality, Planning,

Production/Manufacturing,

Security, and more will be a key responsibility. A customer-focused approach, along with strong prioritization and delegation skills, are essential. Additionally, the ability to contribute technically to support Operations' testability goals is required. Promoting software and security best practices, reducing technical debt, and enhancing processes will also be part of their role.
Skills You Will Need
Bachelor's or master's degree in an engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
5-10 years semiconductor industry experience with some time spent in automated test engineering
Professional experience with diverse cultures and perspectives
2+ years of experience leading, recruiting, developing, and retaining members of a technical team.
A proven track record of success in project planning, tradeoff analysis and execution.
Experience using collaboration tools such as Confluence and Jira to facilitate communication, project management, and task prioritization.
Excellent communication skills, being able to explain technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
Software:

Experience in SDLC methodologies including requirements gathering, architecture, testing, user acceptance, etc.
Software development experience using revision control, object-oriented programming, and demonstrated competence in two or more programming languages (Python and embedded C preferred).
Passionate about software quality, advocating for development best practices such as readability, reliability, and scalability.
Use of Docker containers in software development and application.
Linux administration and system security.
Penetration testing collaboration and remediation.
IoT device security concepts, practices, and standards.

Hardware:

Ability to read/analyze/apply information to circuit design and test requirements from data sheets.
Lab instrument familiarity (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Vector Network Analysis, etc.)
Awareness of modern Design for test (DFT) strategies, concepts, and capabilities.
Test development specifically for mixed signal and RF devices.
Familiarity in PCB schematic and layout review.
Knowledge of MCU and/or FPGA application, control, and capabilities.

Semiconductor:

Experience in test development on traditional platforms such as Teradyne, Advantest, Cohu, etc.
Well-versed in semiconductor manufacturing and test processes, product development life cycle, and data analysis

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $117,960 - $219,069 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
