Position Summary
The Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic trauma-informed clinical services to individual clients and identified support caregivers and/or family members while focusing on meeting the client's individual mental health and/or addiction needs.
They are responsible for developing treatment plans in conjunction with the client and developing transition plans that address ongoing treatment issues, while maintaining a working knowledge of services that are appropriate for the needs of the clients served.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Incorporates the six principles of trauma informed care throughout all aspects of their work. Interviews and evaluates clients of all populations, establishes diagnoses and levels of care, and establishes treatment plans which define the goals, treatment modalities, specific outcomes, and timeframes for treatment.
Develops transition plans that address ongoing treatment needs. Maintains working knowledge of services appropriate for the client served and support systems' needs. Manages their caseload through engagement and outreach to clients. Establish positive, trusting rapport with clients and families. Provides individual, family, and group therapy in accordance with the client's treatment plan and agency policy and procedures. Conduct ongoing assessments of client progress. Provides crisis intervention as assigned. Refers and connects clients to resources and other treatment as necessary. Coordinates communication and services provided by internal and external programs and agencies. Complies with documentation requirements according to agency policies. Completes administrative tasks, such as attending training, meetings, serving on committees as assigned, engaging in supervision as identified and according to policy.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy required. Current with all state licensing requirements, including LMHC, LMHCA, LCSW, LSW, LCAC, temp license or must obtain temporary license within 45 days of hire. Knowledge of behavioral health and addiction conditions and best practices for treatment. Well-developed listening and interviewing skills to explore client needs and develop/monitor treatment plans. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate effective engagement skills. Ability to work independently. Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks. Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners. Demonstrates knowledge and skills related to specific populations as applicable. Ability to work as a treatment team member. Demonstrates skill and sensitivity to cultural differences. Demonstrates effective decision-making skills, problem solving, critical thinking skills. Ability and willingness to travel on behalf of agency need. Willingness to work in a client's home and community setting (community-based therapist only).
