ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Title I Teacher at Lorain Preparatory Academy located in Lorain, Ohio dedicated to providing a superior education for all students in our upcoming school year! We are seeking teachers who are passionate and dedicated to bringing the curriculum to life for each student. Founded in 2014, ACCEL Schools is a K-12 public charter school management organization (CMO) across the United States. We manage a network of over 50 charter schools within Ohio and surrounding states. Celebrating 15 years of service to Lorain families, Lorain Preparatory Academy (LPA) is an active learning community led by a dedicated, experienced faculty. Highly rated by the Ohio Department of Education, the elementary and middle school provides a standards-based curriculum enriched with education technology to accelerate student learning and readiness. LPA staff works together with students, families, and communities to develop independent, critical thinkers who are intrinsically motivated to become lifelong learners. The school supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth through mentorship opportunities and various competitive sports including Basketball and Cross Country. Responsibilities: Teach relevant Ohio standards in Reading and/or Mathematics to students needing remediation or extra supportAnalyze data to determine what students may need small group supportMaintain accurate and complete records for each student pertaining to students' progress and developmentMaintain Title One log to document all students assistedAssists with federal Title One program audits as neededWork directly with classroom teachers and other staff members to improve student learning and achievementPrepare and deliver lesson plans for the students you supportParticipate, as required in RTI or other meetings where students' academic needs are discussed and planned forDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of all studentsUtilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instructionCreate a positive environment for students to learn inUtilize school approved curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the studentsImplement school-wide culture expectations and normsCommunicate and meet with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their childIncorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learningParticipate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities, as neededCollaborate and communicate effectively with colleaguesPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Active and current state teaching license in appropriate content areaBachelor's degree in education or related fieldHigh level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoringExcellent written and verbal communication skills; data analysis skillsAbility to properly manage confidential informationAble to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks Experience working within an urban environmentBenefits: Salary based on previous experience and educationBenefit packages including medical, dental and vision – effective the first of the month following date of hireHealth Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) optionsEligible to participate in applicable retirement plan (STRS or SERS), with company contributionCompany paid basic term life/AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability insuranceAdditional basic life/AD&D insurance and whole life insurance optionsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and Travel Assistance ProgramPaid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysBonuses and stipend opportunitiesAnnual compensation adjustmentsEmployee development and leadership opportunitiesACCEL Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer – it is our policy to abide by all federal, state, and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination.
