This is a highly visible and key position that supports all other departments within the Dearborn Tool & Die Facility by managing 3 distinctly different skill teams.
The role includes extensive interaction with SBU, UAW Leadership team and Ford HR.
What you'll do
Tool Coordination
Lead team of 2 Salary, 1 Contract and 5 Hourly team members.
Plant Loading estimates and provide feedback to SBU and
Responsible for tool costing and timing to meet Program GPDS Milestones
Track and monitor construction milestones, QL loops and report out in Open Issues Meeting and communicate with Program Manger
Tool Process Changes and Engineering Changes cost and timing estimates
Process Aurora Orders, Tracklite and POs
Plant Engineering Facilities
Lead Plant Engineering team of 3 Salary and 30 Hourly team members
Responsible party for all corporate compliance for building facilities concerns/requirements
Project Lead for all construction, equipment installs and general projects related to DTD
Responsible for continuous improvement plans and implementation
Understand and lead all standard manufacturing maintenance systems
Execute production equipment maintenance to ensure production equipment reliability
Lead and coordinate maintenance operating system
Participate in the production and evaluation of new equipment standards and specifications
Support safety, quality, technology and production improvement efforts by formulating plans, implementing them, and promoting their adoption
Assure that personal protection equipment, PMHV, safety, ergonomics, housekeeping, etc. practices are planned and adhered to
Lead and coach engineering and maintenance personnel
Material Planning and Logistics
Lead MP&L team consisting of 1 Salary and 6 Hourly
Responsible party for all inventory, crib stock and cycle counts and familiar with Ford Crib inventory systems.
Assure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment (SQDCPME) objectives and operating systems implementation
Assure that personal protection equipment, PMHV, safety, ergonomics, housekeeping, etc. practices are planned and adhered to
Interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel, plant management, staff operations, logistic carriers, and production suppliers
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in a Tool & Die production facility
Deep understanding of Tool & Die processes and process planning
5+ years' experience managing teams
MP&L experience
Experience working with Manufacturing Engineering teams/organizations
Superior organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated history of Servant Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors in Engineering or higher
Deep understanding of Ford systems
