The Casino Construction Tradesman constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment and performs functions related to painting, fabrication and upholstery. They work under the direction of the Construction Services Supervisor or member of the facilities management team directing various activities of construction projects for Jackson Rancheria.
• Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
• Designs and estimates carpentry projects.
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools.
• Build, repair and install cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
• Anchor and brace forms and other structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers.
• Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Bore bolt holes in timber, masonry or concrete using power drill.
• Install rough door and window frames, subflooring, fixtures, or temporary supports in structures undergoing construction or repair.
• Maintains and repairs woodworking equipment.
• Engraves lettering in wood or plastic signs.
• Smooths surfaces and removes old paint from surfaces to prepare surfaces for paint.
• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
• Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors.
• Removes fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers from walls prior to painting.
• Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
• Paints surfaces with brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers.
• Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects.
• Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects.
• Ability to repair or apply all texture using applicable materials and equipment.
• Erect scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Washes surfaces prior to painting with mildew inhibitor.
• Assists with Fabrication projects as needed.
• Assists with Upholstery projects as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Related experience and/or training in the maintenance/construction field.
• Minimum five years' experience as a carpenter preferred.
Ca. Class C Drivers license required - Must be vehicle insurable through JRCR's Agent Pay range: $24.00 - $31.20 per hour
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am. This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state-of-the-art air filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment.
