THE WORK

The selected candidate will serve as a first line manager (FLM) responsible for providing technical and functional leadership to a team of Training professionals to ensure successful execution to cost, schedule and work product commitments.
Primary support is for the IWSS line of business for the International Training and Training Products organization, responsible for leading multiple teams regarding Aegis International Training conduct and development of training products for multiple FMS customers.

This role will be responsible for managing multiple training events for various operations and maintenance courses, along with development of curriculum, training simulations, and interactive courseware lessons, and technical documentation for the US/International Aegis customers and US Coast Guard through effective management skills, project management, project planning, resource planning, and technical expertise to ensure customer success.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, coaching, performance assessments, salary planning, and recognition/disciplinary actions
- Adhere to established overhead targets
- Define annual training and capital requirements
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Customers, Program Managers, Engineering Project Managers, and other first line managers to plan and execute personnel assignments to match staffing demands
- Contribute to or lead cost estimating efforts with demanding schedules, including both competitive proposals and on-contract-growth ECPs, and ROMs.
- Drive technical excellence, affordability, and continuous improvement while supporting program execution and adherence to engineering development processes, and promoting focus on customer value
- Providing functional insight and forecast planning for Aegis FMS customer
- Lead the team to define and execute detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reporting
- Managing allocated budgets and performing earned value management for team activities
- Identifying and addressing issues, risks and opportunities, and resolve customer issues
- Position will require some domestic travel and may have opportunities for international travel.

Basic Qualifications

- Requires a final secret clearance
- Strong experience/background in the development of Aegis training products, execution of training, and development of technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and shall have a working understanding of Integrated Logistics Support.

- Demonstrated familiarity with NAVEDTRA 131 naval training standards and instructional system design
- Proven ability to work closely and effectively with all levels of management to include government program offices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience briefing internal and external customers.

- Experience determining staffing requirements/skillsets, day-to-day management, measurements & reporting of contract scope on projects.

- Experience developing detailed plans in support of technical assignments and proposal cost estimates.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead process and product evolution in support of customers' transformation efforts
- Proven technical leadership skills with ability to lead a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs
- Strong business acumen, management influence, and whole systems thinking

Desired skills

- Experience working with Foreign Military contracts
- Experience using Navy publications (system and equipment technical manuals, maintenance materials, operating manuals, and/or tactical publications).
- Aegis weapon system experience with knowledge of Training philosophy as it applies to Aegis Programs
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functional and program organizations, and with multiple business areas
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile development methodologies
- Strong process discipline with focus on efficiency and optimization
- Experience with data collection and analytical analysis
- Experience in Earn Value Management (EVM) & Cost Account Management (CAM)
- MS Office Proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience working in technical teams across a virtual environment

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400.
For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location.
Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000.
