This position earns a competitive wage of $22.42 -24.52/hour.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRAINING SPECIALIST SUMMARY

The Training Specialist provides training, coaching and support to direct service staff serving children and youth, and occasionally agency foster parents.
This position requires a professional with direct service experience and capacity to train and coach others to meet the specific needs of clients served by the Agency.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Traveling between various agency locations to deliver agency training, which includes scheduled sessions, small groups, and one-on-one coaching.
This may require up to 12 Saturday trainings per year.
Assisting in the onboarding process to ensure new hires meet training requirements and are prepared for direct service care.
Modeling best practices in direct care as needed and guiding staff on integrating training concepts into daily practice.
Identifying and managing educational materials, maintaining the training library, and overseeing the monthly training newsletter.
Collaborating with external trainers and agencies to address internal training needs.
Developing and refining training curricula, handouts, and other educational resources.
Applying adult learning principles in training sessions, ensuring a conducive learning environment, and providing accommodations for diverse learners.
The role involves hands-on involvement, coaching, and a commitment to ongoing development of both staff and training materials.


REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of post-graduate, experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience delivering services to families and children, youth experiencing homelessness and/or foster parents preferred.
Experience in developing curriculum and providing training preferred.
Must be familiar with attachment theory, child development, the psychosocial dynamics of foster care and/or youth experiencing homelessness, and unique needs of youth who have been impacted by trauma.
