Transport Planner

James Shaw & Son is a 3rd generation general haulage transport business, built on the foundation of providing first-class service to our customers. We need someone to join our team with general haulage experience, a hands-on attitude and a desire to drive the business forward.
Key Accountabilities:Plan workloads ensuring compliance with drivers' hours and working time directive legislation.Use geographical knowledge to maximize the fleet utilization.Supervising and managing driver workloads.Reacting to route planning changes when needed and re-routing.Ensuring KPI's are met.Ensuring TMS system is up to date.Deal with driver queries and be the first line manager to resolve any issues.Work with the on-site garage to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to service and inspections.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Previous experience of working as a transport planner within a general haulage environment.Experience of working with and managing drivers.Robus understanding of driver's hours and vehicle compliance.Ability to prioritize and manage workloads.D.O.ETo Show Interest or for more information please contact Andrew Shawon********
